Who can apply for student accommodation?
Students studying at, or who will soon commence studies at, a university or other type of institution for further education with a student union in the Stockholm Federation of Student Unions (SSCO), as well as students involved in Advanced Vocational Education and Training (AVET, or KY in Swedish), exchange students, researchers and guest researchers.
When can I apply for student accommodation?
You can apply for accommodation before you have been accepted on a course of study, although when you sign the contract for an apartment, your studies must have begun. In order to be offered an apartment, you must be actively looking. You register your interest in an apartment yourself. Your wait for that particular apartment is then determined by how long you have been on the waiting list.
Your application
Provided that you filled in the application correctly, you will receive an immediate confirmation by email. Applications can be made any time during the year. If you do not currently have an email address, you will need to get one in order for us to be able to get in contact with you. Please remember that it is your responsibility to report an up-to-date address to us. If for example, you get a new email address and do not change the details on ”Min Sida”, there is a risk that you will not be contacted regarding accommodation availability.
Period of validity of application
You need to update your place in the waiting list by logging in to Huge’s Web site under Min Sida. Otherwise, you will lose your place in the line. Remember to log in in good time, Huge will not send a reminder. If you do not log in at least once every six months, you will lose your place in the line.
How long can I stay?
You can rent accommodation from Huge as long as you are actively studying and taking at least 15 points per term in accordance with the new university points system (corresponds to 10 points according to the old system).

What happens next?
Available apartments are shown for four days before they are taken off the site. After four days, an offer will be sent to the five applicants who have been on the waiting list for the longest. You will receive the offer by email and you can see it under ”Min Sida” as well. You must either accept or decline offers before the deadline stated.
Once the deadline has passed, the person who accepted and who has been on the waiting list for the longest will be contacted to sign the contract.
In some cases, an apartment may be visible on the site for more or less than four days. But we will not start sending offers on apartments to those who have registered interest until the apartment comes off the site.
IMPORTANT!
If you have booked more than one apartment and are the person with the most credit days on all of them, pure chance will dictate which apartment agreement will be offered to you. If you have a 'favourite' apartment, you should just book that particular one, otherwise you risk being offered the 'wrong' apartment.
Viewing apartment
You can contact the current tenant for viewing the apartment/room before you reply to the offer. When you receive the offer, you will also be given the name and telephone number of the current tenant. If there is no telephone number, Huge unfortunately does not have it and you will have to ring directory enquiries (nummerupplysningen) yourself. Under the Swedish Rent Act, rented accommodation may only be shown by the leaseholder, i.e. the existing tenant. Please note that this is a voluntary undertaking on the part of the existing tenant. In other words, there is no guarantee that you will be able to view the apartment/room before deciding whether to accept the offer.
If the current tenant cannot be contacted or for some other reason cannot or will not show you the apartment/room, you will still have to decide whether or not you want to sign a rental agreement.
Moving-in date
When booking an apartment, you will be told from when it is available. The moving-in date cannot be altered. Rent will be charged from the moving-in date onwards, regardless of whether you actually move in on that date or do so later on. If the moving-in date is on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday, you will be able to move in on the following weekday.
